The Conservatory of Padua since 1878 has been working in a territory which is rich of fertile and varied musical traditions. In 1956 Claudio Scimone who became director in 1973 and he had been in that role for 28 years, founded the instrumental ensemble “I Solisti Veneti” that had been dedicating for over 60 years to the instrumental and vocal baroque music, mainly of venetian origin. In 1838 the reverend Luigi Configliachi created an institute for blind people which was linked to the Institute “C.Pollini” and so to the Conservatory of music. The modern department of music didactic which has a complete formative offer about music and disability is the successor of this important tradition
